James and stuff

I've got a weird kind of illness today - a bad headache that makes me feel vaguely nauseous, coupled with bags of restless energy. I went to the gym, went swimming and still felt restless enough for a walk. Trust me this is unusual!

Anyhoo... I had a trip to London at the end of October (first time I've ever been, was absolutely terrified) but while I was there thanks to the fab [info]ladyflame_uk who had an extra ticket I did get to check out James Marsters performance of 'Words & Music'! *sigh* Y'know he doesn't get older, he just gets prettier.

Ok, I'm biased but I thought he did give an awesome performance. He did an adaption of Macbeth, then had a Q & A session with the audience, followed by playing us some tunes on his guitar. One of the strings broke on the first song, so he had to go off and fix it. Bless. Still he was worth the wait!

In other news, [info]karenbear's plans to get me hooked on TV shows of her choosing is coming on very well. I'm now a Veronica Mars junkie! I've watched all of the first series and I *love* this show! And - you're not going to believe this, I barely believe it myself - but I'm not into any slash pairing on this show whatsoever! I think its because I adore Veronica so much as a heroine, I'm on the edge of my seat to see whats happens with her romantically - no spoilers but there was one guy and when they kissed I was squealing like a schoolgirl, it was so exciting! *Looks mistily into the distance* This must be what non-slash people feel like all the time...

Awww sweetie - I'm sorry you're not feeling so well. :-( But yay for posting in your journal! :D I'd nag you to do it more often, but I'm getting pretty bad at it myself, so it would be somewhat hypocritical of me. Heh.

I've just met the infamous Paul btw - big thumbs up! He could be a keeper. :D Wasn't around him long enough to quiz him yet, but I should get the chance in a couple of weeks when I'm staying at Lynne's. I'll let you know how that goes. *g*

Take care of yourself, baby doll.

Yeah, the headaches been coming and going for the past couple of days. I hope it stops soon!

Glad Paul got a thumbs up! If he's as nice as you say I bet Lynne's v. happy :) Don't worry I'm sure time to quiz him on his TV preference will present itself shortly!

Probably a stupid question, but you are taking something for the headaches, right?

Sorry, I'm being all mum again, huh? Heh.

It's getting to be a bad habit - feel free to slap me one. ;-)

Oh, and I have WW season 4 back from my uncle, so you can watch season 3 as fast as you like. Just let me know when you're getting near the end. :D

Slash comes in season two, it does. Most people I know, myself included, have been sort of eh on VM slash because, yis, Veronica herself is so excellent (fancy shoes!). But just you wait - comfort comes after HURT HURT STAND HERE AND I WILL HURT YOU.

Do you need S2? VM lovers unite! *twirl*

Really - season 2 is pretty slashy huh? Well I'll wait and see if it sucks me in! Sometimes all you need is one ep, and its like a revelation or something - of *course* these two pretty boys should be together! I was like that with the West Wing when I watched 'In the shadow of two gunmen'. They have never been as slashy before or since, but just that was enough to set me on firmly on the road of Josh/Sam! At the moment I so love V/L I just can't see him with anyone else (even C.C. Shagging the younger man again. Tut, tut!)

No, I'm ok for season 2 thanks - karenbear is on the case, I just wish the network would release it faster!

Yeah, all over the V/L, baby. I do concur. I do agree.

Logan/Duncan comes later. And Logan/Weevil takes a while, but it grows on you. And Logan/Dick Casablancas, I'm told. Hee.

Wallace is so hot. I need him to be with someone other than who he's with now. I DO.

OK - so you were at Words and Music and I didn't know?????????????
My all time fave slash writer was there in the same room as me being flabbergasted at JM's performance like me and I didn't know YOU WERE THERE??????!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus woman - way to keep everything quiet!!

Hope you enjoyed it all as much as I did - what seat were you in??? So near yet so far!!

Oh no! Sweetie, I'm sorry! Curse my close-mouthedness! If its any consolation I was with my 15 year old sister and we would have had to talk in code or something because she doesn't know I write fanfic, and definately (I fervently hope anyway) doesn't know the *type* of fanfic! Its kind of a sensitive situation between us and I am deep in the slash closet.

I'm not sure what seat I was in - I can't find my ticket right now - in the centre block of seats, about...six rows from the back.

So *settles in for a good gossip* what was your fav part? I can't decide - I thought he did very well with the adaption, certainly portrayed Macbeth as a fighter, not his wifes puppet, but I did love the songs too - more the ballads than the rocky ones though, I thought they suited his voice better. And of course the Q and A was fun too. Did you ask anything? I was too shy *blush* Well, that and I couldn't think of anything ;)

Ok of course you're forgiven! No, someone beside me asked a question - we were about 5 rows from the front - right in the middle - fantastic views of JM and the stage. I was totally flabbergasted to be honest - I thought I knew how good he was but of course I didn't! he was just breathtaking! he OWNED that stage - he was BORN to do theatre! to interpret as he wanted - not as Joss (god bless him) decreed! I felt very privileged to have seen it and Yes I love his ballads and his blues, but god the man is an actor first and foremost and I'm glad he shared this with us!
Good to know you were there too and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did - and I hope you continue writing slash in your own fantastic way even though you may be in the 'closet' to your family! If my family knew what I read I'd be ostracised for a perv!

Damn. I was there, too!! Wish I'd known you were. [info]suki_blue and I were in the middle in Row H, I think, for the matinee and still in the middle but a few rows further back at the evening performance. Did you get your trading card?

There were a good few slashers spread around the place, many of whom I'd met at his gigs in April, so it was a great reunion. Even the queuing was fun. I posted a report about the weekend. Not like lazy ol' me. *g*

He was gorgeous and, bias be damned, I thought he was just wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment and will be first in line if he comes back to London.

Arrgh! You were there too! It sounds like a slashers playground - if only I could have joined in! Then again I wouldn't have been in London at all, if it wasn't for my sister, so I can't really complain - at least I got to see James!

No, I didn't get a trading card, :( What did you get? And absolutely bias be damned - James is awesome!

It was a total slashers' playground! Dunno if you've read my report but it's here: Gorgeous James and you can see how many of us were there. And I know for a fact I missed meeting a few. You, to start with.

I got a Buffybot card :( as a reward for buying one of the expensive seats but resisted the temptation to buy a piece of the duster at £60. *g*

Have you seen this? DVD. Whoohoo! It's worth the dosh, just as a reminder of such a brilliant weekend.

He's beautiful, he's talented, he gave everyone a great show ... What more could we want?
